BARRY HILTON

Legendary South African comedian Barry Hilton continues to one the most successful careers in SA stand-up history. He has been wowing audiences for a phenomenal 35 years! And is still criss-crossing this country and the world with his unique and larger-than-life approach to things we all have in common and a hilarious take on our quirks and differences.

Apart from being an absolute audience favourite, Barry Hilton is also known for his professionalism and his dedication to good, clean comedy. These are just some of the reasons that saw him awarded with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the South African Comics’ Choice Awards – voted for by his peers and colleagues in the industry.

He’s known for never going for the easy gags, cheap shots and lazy punch lines of dirty and vulgar comedy. If you’re lucky enough to remember one of the multitude of jokes that fly your way during one of his shows, you’ll be able to tell it to anybody from your boss to your gran.

He knows the intrinsic art of being funny and has a never-ending supply of new, side-splitting humour that is drawn from the most basic human situations.

This is also one of the reasons Barry has been able to connect with similar ease with audiences all around the globe. He’s performed at the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, in Canada, Dubai, America, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Later this year he will be unleashing his hilarity on audiences in the UK and Ireland and also as host at the Hong Kong International Comedy Festival. Jami Gong of the TakeOut Comedy Club in Hong Kong has described him as “Explosive, Universal and Very Funny”.

But before all that, on FRIDAY 6 JULY he’ll be doing his last show in South Africa at THE GUILD THEATRE in EAST LONDON before jetting to the UK and Ireland for shows in Bournemouth, London, Glasgow, Dublin and Manchester.

Get your tickets for BARRY HILTON’S hilarious comedy show at the Guild Theatre in East London on Friday 6 July at 19h30.
