Hofmeyr is still ready to pay tribute, in his distinctive, gravely baritone, to the country classics of our time. Once again you may say that some of these songs are somewhat peculiar for a Country Collection. But that was the idea! Steve Hofmeyr countrifies nostalgia like no-one else does. “My Way”, “Dancing In The Dark” and even “Sometimes When We Touch” made the playlist. “Amanda” gets both the Williams and Stapleton treatment, “Lucille” is Neil Diamond-ish and his Facebook followers begged for The Ballad of the Green Beret which sounds like…well, Steve.
